See February BriefIn 2023, the Bucharest Bar Association, responsible for over ten thousand legal professionals, faced significant operational inefficiencies due to its reliance on manual, paper-based processes. They led to delays, lack of transparency, and difficulties in managing a high volume of requests and petitions.
Recognizing the need for modernization, the Bar partnered with OPTI to undertake a comprehensive digital transformation through the "Electronic Registry 2024" project. This initiative transitioned the Bar’s operations to a fully digital platform, improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery for its members and the public.
The Bucharest Bar Association faced several operational challenges solvable by digital transformation.
Manual processes
Blockages and delays
Lack of transparency
Logicistical challenges
Phase 1: Electronic submission and tracking of petitions and applications
Phase 2: Digital drafting and approval
Phase 3: Mass electronic signatures
The processes were paper-based and required physical presence, which led to backlogs, processing delays, and a complete lack of transparency regarding the status of requests.
Lawyers can now submit requests online via the website, from desktop or mobile, and track their status in real-time in their personal account, receiving email notifications.
We integrated the DigiSign service to enable mass electronic signing of documents, eliminating the need for lawyers to be physically present at the headquarters.
No, the launch was performed with 'zero downtime,' allowing the Bar Association to continue its operations without interruption.
